Tom Walker, a 45-year resident of Alaska, lives near Denali National Park. He is a full-time professional photographer and writer specializing in Alaska natural history and wildlife. He has worked as a conservation officer, wilderness guide, wildlife technician, log home builder, documetary film advisor and adjunct professor of journalism and photography. HIs work has been published worldwide. Walker's books include: DENALI JOURNAL, WILD CRITTERS, ALASKA'S WILDLIFE, ALASKA'S MAMMALS, ALASKA'S BEARS and CARIBOU: WANDERER OF THE TUNDRA, which won the 2000 Benjamin Franklin Book Award in the caregory of Nature and Environment. An in-demand lecturer, Walker also presents programs for Road Scholar, schools and photography groups.

The Art of Sara Tabbert: "Most of my artwork is inspired by the natural world. Observation and life study have always been important elements of my working process. I combine the information that I gather through observation with other ideas to create pieces that are simultaneously real as well as fantastic. When my art is at its best it is part science and part fairy tale.
Training as a printmaker gave me a love of careful craft, a desire to create interesting surfaces, and a sculptor’s interest in materials. Carved blocks have become increasingly important to me as finished pieces rather than just a matrix to print from. I continue to explore my ideas through prints and panels, developing an interesting conversation between these related art forms."
